Save the Date! Christmas in July

We have an official date... July 25, 2009! As my friend Jenny pointed out, it's like Christmas in July, so Merry Christmas everyone! :)

John and I made a deposit on our reception hall today, so we are going with the 25th. We are still waiting for the church to confirm the date, but we're pretty sure that will be OK. If not, we have quite a few friends who are ministers, so one way or another we will be married by the end of that day!

We will be having the reception at The Medalist golf course on N Drive North in Marshall. We'll have maps later, but you can check out the link below to see pictures. It will be outdoors under a white tent, so we're hoping to do a nice summer picnic type reception. They did say they'll have fans just in case it's hot (hot? in the middle of July?) and they said the bathrooms have air conditioning, so hopefully you'll find some way to keep cool! (There is a small pond, but I wouldn't recommend swimming). It should be a great night!

Dates and Flowers

John and I went to a wedding expo yesterday and realized we have a lot to do! We are in the process of confirming the date. We've sent in the paperwork to the church and are just waiting for all of the church committees to approve it (gotta love the Presby church and their committees!) :). We are 90% sure the wedding will be on Saturday, July 25. We will post again as soon as that is confirmed or if something changes (hopefully we will know within the week) so hang in there with us!

There are two decisions we made after the wedding expo. First is that even though black wedding dresses seem to be popular (??), my dress will be white. And the second is that we are going to use gerbera daisies for our flowers. I've been thinking of them for awhile and apparently they are very "in" right now ( who knew we were trend-setters?). I like them because Daisy is my grandma's name and she means a lot to me. Last week, John surprised me with a bouquet of these flowers and they are beautiful! They will be great for a summer wedding and a nice tribute to my grandma.
