Going to the Chapel!

We have official confirmation that we will be married at the First Presbyterian Church in Marshall on July 25, 2009! This is the church I grew up in and had my first teaching experiences with vacation bible school and praise time. It's a beautiful church filled with loving people and good memories, so we're thrilled to be getting married there. My Grandpa Love (my mom's dad) is a member of this church still and has often performed dove releasing ceremonies for special events there. He has offered to release his doves after our wedding on the front steps of the church. The doves symbolize many things...peace, the Holy Spirit, God's love, commitment, and everlasting love...What a great way to start our marriage! :)

Address: 200 W Mansion St, Marshall, MI‎

Parking: Most people park on Mansion street or in the parking lots behind the main street stores. You can park pretty much anywhere in Marshall and not get a ticket. If you do get a ticket, it'll be something like 50 cents...but you won't get a ticket...trust me. :)

Save the Date! Christmas in July

We have an official date... July 25, 2009! As my friend Jenny pointed out, it's like Christmas in July, so Merry Christmas everyone! :)

John and I made a deposit on our reception hall today, so we are going with the 25th. We are still waiting for the church to confirm the date, but we're pretty sure that will be OK. If not, we have quite a few friends who are ministers, so one way or another we will be married by the end of that day!

We will be having the reception at The Medalist golf course on N Drive North in Marshall. We'll have maps later, but you can check out the link below to see pictures. It will be outdoors under a white tent, so we're hoping to do a nice summer picnic type reception. They did say they'll have fans just in case it's hot (hot? in the middle of July?) and they said the bathrooms have air conditioning, so hopefully you'll find some way to keep cool! (There is a small pond, but I wouldn't recommend swimming). It should be a great night!
