Redfield Wedding Shower

A few weekends ago we had our first wedding shower with the Redfield family. Everything was so beautiful and we had so much fun! We are lucky to have such supportive, loving, and funny family members. Thanks Grandma and Aunt B. for organizing the party and everyone else for filling the night with love and laughter. We had a great time!!John's parents met my dad, grandparents, and family for the first time. Everyone was on their best behavior for about five minutes...then Uncle Joe started making comments about short- armed hillbillies...
John and I wore our "bride and groom" hats for the whole evening. We were troopers. This picture is us opening our "love bugs" during the shower games.
This is the family playing a similes game. This inspired the now commonly used phrases "cool as a scooter rider" and "smart as a Redfield" and a few others I won't mention. :)
We also played a game where people could only refer to John and I as "bride" and "groom." If you used our real names, whoever caught you could take the bells from your around your neck. I was winning until my... eh hem..so-called best friend and maid of honor caught me talking about "John's" house. ;) This is me pouting and Jenny taking all my bells. She ended up winning the game by having all the bells by the end of the night...despite Uncle Rex's constant hovering and best efforts to distract her. Good job, Jen!! Grandma and her favorite grandson! :) Notice Paul in the background staring intently in the opposite direction. He's watching Jenny to try to get her bells.Opening presents...we received many thoughtful and practical gifts. Grandma gave us an antique Betty Crocker Pie book and food chopper...as well as an MSU afgan that she's been waiting to give us for years! Apparently, we're a little behind schedule with the marriage plans. :)

The Neely's still smiling at the end of the night! You can also see an empty tray of Grandma's home-made lasagna at the bottom of the picture. The food was great!!

John and I next to our BEAUTIFUL daisy covered cake! Every detail was so thoughtful. Thanks again to everyone for a memorable night!
