Because we're getting married!

And when you get married, I guess you get a little narcissistic.... :)





We hadn't taken any engagement photos, so we met some friends in East Lansing and played with our new camera. It was fun walking around campus with our paparazzi of friends taking pictures. MSU has so many beautiful spots, we were hoping we'd get at least one good picture!












We need to choose a photo for our signing board for the reception.

This is our artistic & creative production team! Jenny's friends from Virginia were visitng Michigan, so they joined us on a campus tour. Spartan alumni include Jenny & Elissa (my college roomates and high school buddies), Nick (Elissa's husband...they met at MSU too!), and Darby (John's college roommate and my Wesley friend).

Christmas Crackers

Christmas crackers are part of the English celebration of Christmas. They are cardboard tubes wrapped in brightly covered paper. To open them, two people twist and pull them like a wish-bone. The crackers are stuffed with a paper crown, candy, a motto, and a party toy. We thought what better way to to celebrate our wedding (Christmas in July) than to have crackers as our party favors.

Danielle and a few of her girl friends setup an assembly line to crank out the crackers.

Here are Sarah and Jackie measuring and cutting ribbon for the ends and paper for the tubes.
Next up, Jenny and Elisa are putting the final touches on the crackers. They are wrapping them and sealing the ends.

(Note: You may be wondering didn't we miss a step...what is in the crackers. Well that is a secret and for you to find out you will have to come to the wedding and reception. :-))

Wedding Dress

Next Tuesday, my mom and I are checking out bridal stores to either find a dress or get inspired to make one. My mom is a great costumier, so she could create a beautiful dress. Also, I trust her judgment and taste...that is until she sent me this:
